The Harris Tweed Beige & Grey Herringbone with Timorous Beasties Black Thistle Double Sided Lampshade, is a fabulous combination!  The hand screen printed Black thistles on a linen background match in perfectly with the Beige & Grey Herringbone Harris Tweed. What makes Harris Tweed  so special? Well, it is because Harris Tweed is dyed and blended. Following that it is carded, spun, warped & woven. Finally it is finished, examined and stamped, but only in the Scottish Outer Hebrides by local crofters and artisans. This is why at Rowan and Fern Lampshade Design it is always authentic Harris Tweed we use. Timorous Beasties is a Glasgow based design studio founded in 1990 by Alistair McAuley and Paul Simmons, renowned for their innovative and often provocative approach to textiles and wallpaper. Timorous Beasties work features intricate patterns, rich textures, bold imagery, often incorporating natural elements and urban motifs, therefore have gained international acclaim for their distinctive style and high quality craftsmanship. Choose between a Table/Floor lamp fitting OR A Ceiling/Pendant fitting. This is important as it will ensure I have Harris Tweed label in the correct place and the interior fabric the correct way up. *Please be aware of the non returns policy regarding Timorous Beasties lampshades* Your lampshade can be adapted to fit either a UK or European fitting lamp, by using an adapter is provided for you with each lampshade. Please request a fabric sample>> here, if you would like to check if this fabric is right for you. All our lampshade are handmade using a PVC material which has been tested by the Lighting Association Laboratories. Both fabrics are available with a white interior.

Please allow up to 14-21 working days for delivery of your order , although your shade may be ready much sooner.

The shades are all handmade by myself  hence the timescale above.

If you require your shade(s) sooner please let us know and we will try to accommodate you.

Orders can be collected in person, (by prior arrangement), a collection option is available at the checkout.

Returns & Refunds

If you wish to return your shade for whatever reason, you can*.

We accept returns within 14 days of purchase.  A refund will be made to the original payment method.

*Please read the following exceptions to our return & refund policy:

  • Timorous Beasties fabric shades cannot be returned due to the fabric having been made to order to fulfill your shade order.
  • The returned shade(s) must be returned in the original packaging. The shade(s) must also not have been removed from and should be returned in the original cellophane wrapping.
  • Returned shade(s) must not have been used. 

To make a return:

  • Send an email to us at rowanandfernlampshade@gmail.com with your request to return your shade. We will then confirm your request to return.
  • Shades must be returned via a Parcelforce service,(insured to the value of the shade).

More Returns Information:

  •  Please inform us within 24 hours of ordering if you need to amend your order as most of the shades will be made to order for you.
  • We must be notified of any damaged shades within 3 days of delivery
  • Orders must be returned in their original packaging and in perfect condition.
  • We will only cover the return shipping cost of damaged/faulty items.
  • Once we receive your return please allow up to 5 working days for a refund to be returned to your account.
